    THE CHURCH OR THE KINGDOM

    Sunday, July 16, 2017
Jesus did not come to start another religious group or even a church - He came to establish His Kingdom. Mark 1:14 After John went to prison, Jesus went about preaching the gospel of the Kingdom. The Kingdom of God is exclusive and inclusive. John 3
Jesus tells Nicodemus, “You have to Born Again to get into the Kingdom.”
    Luke 16:16
We must press into the Kingdom.

    THE KING AND HIS DOMAIN
    THE KINGDOM OF GOD
    THE KING AND HIS DOMAIN
    Sunday, July 2, 2017
The Bible is a continuous storyline about The King and His domain. You and I are now a part of that storyline. We must figure out where we fit into God’s storyline. Colossians 1:15-20 KINGSHIP - Colossians 1:15-17 reveals to us that God is the King of kings. He is King of thrones, dominions, principalities, and powers - both visible and invisible. Deuteronomy 10:17 HEADSHIP - In Colossians 1:18 Paul boldly declares that Christ (God is flesh) is the head of the Ecclesia. Matthew 16:18-19 - Notice the personal investment. (He, His) Church - Ecclesia - a political assembly of citizens of an ancient Greek state. In spiritual terms, a called-out separated people. Jesus uses a political term to teach the idea of His Kingdom and the people who are called to expand it. Ephesians 5:23 clearly tells us that Jesus is the head of the Church, head of the “ecclesia”, the called out people. The message of Jesus is no longer being preached by the church who calls themselves by the name of Jesus. We must inquire of the Lord! What does the head say the body should be doing? LORDSHIP - Colossians 1:19 we read the word “fullness” which is used 17 times in Colossians. Paul uses it to describe the sum total of Divine attributes, resident in Jesus and to reveal His uncontested Lordship. James 4:7 - Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Philippians 2:10 - That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, Our response to the Kingship, Headship, and Lordship of God is Stewardship. There are three ways to judge our response; Time - Talent - Treasure.

1 Samuel 17:12-29 David is asked by his father to take food to his brothers. When he arrives he finds the entire army being intimidated by a giant named Goliath David decides that if no one else with fight, I will fight. When his oldest brother begins to poke at him about his intentions, David makes a powerful statement - "Is there not a cause?" The word "cause is also translated as, a word spoken or an appointment given. We are called to contend for the cause, the word that God has spoken over us. Jesus said he only did what his father told him to do. Jeremiah 20:7-9 - The word was in his heart like a fire.
Every one of us will carry fire for something.

    Ruth 1:6-19
Orpah stays in the strange land, but Ruth makes a commitment, “Your people - My people / Your God - My God.” Sin has landed us in a strange land. It is God’s desire for everyone to come home. Everyone will not make the trip.
Don’t stop bringing people to the house of bread.
This is the Great Commission: Matthew 28:18-20 You and I are the heart, hands, feet, and voice of God in this generation.
