OVERCOMING THE CURSE OF APATHY
Series: Overcomer
OVERCOMER—2
OVERCOMING APATHY
Sunday, September 10, 2017
Life can sometimes steal our passion and excitement and we can become cynical and even indifferent at times.
Apathy - an absence or suppression of passion, emotion, or excitement; a lack of interest in, or concern for, things that others find moving or exciting.
Complacency - being pleased, especially with oneself or one’s merits, advantages, situation, etc., often without awareness of some potential danger or defect. Apathy and complacency are perhaps the most destructive heart conditions of all.
What causes apathy? 1. FAMILIARITY - Isaiah 43:22-24 2. SELF-SATISFACTION - Luke 18:9 / Deuteronomy
6:10-12
3. CONSTANT FAILURE AND DISAPPOINTMENT - Exodus 6:6-9
3 Ways to Rekindle Passion:
1. Admit your apathy.
2. Just do it!

3. Get help from friends
Rarely are people victorious alone.

    CURSE OF COMPARING
    Sunday, September 3, 2017
There has never been an easier time to compare than now; the fastest way to kill something special is to compare it to something else. John 20:1-8 - Was John comparing himself to Peter? John 21:20-22 - Was Peter comparing himself to John? You can’t faithfully follow Jesus if you’re always comparing yourself to someone else. 2 Corinthians 10:12 - Comparison is not wise.
Hebrews 12:1-2 - Run your own race.
THE QUESTION WE MUST ANSWER IS – WHO OR WHAT IS GOING TO DEFINE MY WORTH? 1 Corinthians 9:24-29 - Run with purpose. Two instructions to runners:
    1. Stay in your lane.
    2. Keep your eye on the finish line.

    THE KINGDOM OF GOD
    KINGDOM AUTHORITY
    Sunday, August 6, 2017
Every Kingdom must have a flow of authority.  Without it everything falls into disarray. The Kingdom of God is the same way.  You and I have been authorized (given authority) to speak, act, and rule on behalf of the King. If you are going to walk in Kingdom Authority you must gain your authority through an understanding of the Kingdom Principle of FAITH. Hebrews 11:1 - Substance = Assurance/Confidence Matthew 8:5-12 - Authority and Submission
What have you been wishing for?  What have you been praying casually for?
At some point, you must step up in full confidence and speak with bold authority, knowing God will do that work. Matthew 16:19 “I will give you the keys to the kingdom from heaven. Whatever you prohibit on earth will have been prohibited in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will have been permitted in heaven.” Announcements

    THE KINGDOM OF GOD
    A KINGDOM IN CONFLICT

    Sunday, July 30, 2017
The Kingdom of God has been in conflict from the time that Lucifer rejected God’s plan until today. Ephesians 6:10-20 “You cannot drop in behind enemy lines and not expect to be attacked by the enemy.” - Dan Rogers. As born-again, created beings we fight battles on three fronts. Self -
    Demonic -
    World -
How do we fight and win this Spiritual battle? First, we must decide which side we are on. Exodus 32 Develop your disciplines. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 Fight daily! Luke 9:23 You fight for the cause of the Kingdom. 1 Timothy 6:11-12 / 2 Timothy 4:7

    THE HIDDEN THINGS
    Sunday, July 23, 2017
Proverbs 25:2 Deuteronomy 29:29 God hides things from us, but for us. Matthew 13:10-16 Matthew 13:44 4 Lessons we can learn from the parable of the Treasure in the Field: 1. Leave comfort - This is the beginning of seeking, searching, and pursuing. 2.  Look in unlikely places - God doesn’t always hide things in likely places. 3. Discovery - The joy is in finding the hidden things. 4. Buy it - When you find a hidden thing, you must be willing to invest in it.
