Blood of the Lamb
LET MY PEOPLE GO THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB
Sunday, July 10, 2016
On Israel’s last night in Egypt they experienced what God called, “The Passover.” This was not a sad day but a day of celebration, feasting and honoring God for His power to deliver, as well as a day or consecration. Exodus 12:1-14 Lamb = Jesus - John 1:29 Meal = Communion - Luke 22:14-20 Blood = Cross - 1 Peter 1:18-19
Deliverance = Forgiveness - Colossians 1:12-14
The story of Israel covering their doorpost with the blood of the lamb is a powerful typology of you and I being covered by the blood of Jesus. Our Vision is that we are REAL People (Authentic)… who have encountered a REAL God (The Blood of Jesus)… and are engaged in REAL Purpose (Passionate). The covering of the blood of Jesus should not happen one time and then we settle. The theological term would be “sanctification;” this is the continued work of God’s transforming power in our life. When Israel put the blood on their doorpost, that wasn’t the first and last act of their journey… Here’s a question we need to dissect. To what extent am I experiencing the transforming power of God in my life right now? 1 John 2:2 tells us that Jesus was the sacrifice for our sins and for the sins of the whole world. Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony

    Speaking to Your Captor
LET MY PEOPLE GO! SPEAKING TO YOUR CAPTOR Sunday, July 3, 2016
There are 2 things I want you to take away today:
God wants you to be free.
You must add your voice to God’s plan.
Exodus 3:1-10 God reveals to Moses His plan to free the people and sends Moses on a mission. He goes back to Egypt and gathers the people and then faces down Pharaoh. From Exodus 7-10 we find God brings a series of curses (plagues) to the people of Egypt because Pharaoh would not let the people God go. Moses had a simple saying – “Let My People Go!” Add your voice to God’s plan and do not try to add your plan to God’s voice! Finally, the 10th plague God gives Moses a plan - a lamb, a meal, the blood and deliverance. This is called the passover which is a celebration, a feast, where people worship God, and remember His power to deliver. Then when Israel faces the Red Sea they immediately begin to grumble and complain. Exodus 14:15-16 God doesn’t change His mind, His plan or His destiny for the people. He simply wants Moses to put his human voice behind God’s divine plan.
    John 12:49

    Through prayer

Matthew 7:7-12 Jesus reveals the heart of a Good, Good Father when He speaks of how a father only wants what’s best for his child. Luke 15:11-32 - The Story of the Prodigal Son. Our Heavenly Father is a righteous redeemer. He redeems us for a righteous cause. God redeems people, places and things for a righteous purpose… to establish His kingdom on this earth and even more specific in this city. The writers of Numbers, Isaiah, Psalms and Habakkuk all record God saying that the whole earth shall be filled with the Glory of God. When we look around at all the craziness, sin, and degradation that is going on in our world - How can this be possible? This can and will happen when you and I allow the redemptive power of the Father to work through us and as a result impact the world around us. There is HOPE!!!

    The Language of the Father
GOOD, GOOD FATHER THE LANGUAGE OF THE FATHER 6/5/2016 God is our Father in creation - The first mention of God is found in him using language to create. Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Everything created was brought into being through the power of the spoken word. Language was first used to create and later used to communicate.
Belief Systems = Culture = Vocabulary (This idea goes both ways.)
In Genesis 11 we find the second mention of language and it is at the Tower of Babel. God understands the power of language. Women speak about 20,000 words a day - some 13,000 more than the average man. However, both average about 500-700 words of actual value.
What is the value of your language?
    Proverbs 18:21
    Luke 6:43-45
The root produces the fruit. It is a very powerful thing to be in sync with yourself. John 12:49-50 You and I must speak what we hear our Father say, then and only then can we know with assurance that God’s will is being done on earth as it is in Heaven.

In John 10:10 Jesus promised us life and life more abundant, yet many believers either seldom this experience or not at all. John 15:1-11 Carnality or “self-righteousness” is trying to live life without Jesus as the “true vine.” When Jesus says He is the “true” vine He is telling us there is also a false vine(s). In verse 2 the word “away” literally means to lift up and bring into alignment. Verse 4 and 5 reminds us that abundance comes only through our right alignment. Verse 6 gives us the picture of the other option. Which is when we fall out of alignment (are cut off) we wither and we have one result; all we do will be burned or brought to nothing. Verse 7 and 8 pushes us to “abide” (stay in a given place) in Him. Verse 10 and the idea of keeping God’s commands points us to developing a belief system in alignment with God. Verse 11 tells us when we choose alignment with God and we give Him joy and our joy is full!

Gen 12:1-3 Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. 2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
God makes an important distinction of responsibilities in this statement.
Galatians 3 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise.
Jesus came to bring a kingdom, and a kingdom like no other.
Luke 6:27-31 Here Jesus covers every sector or society. Your enemies People who hate you Those who persecute you (the wealthy or powerful)
The one who slaps you and takes your things (your peers)
    Those who beg (the poor)

YOUR DESTINY IS FOUND ON THE WAY TO YOUR DESTINATION
Sunday, May 8, 2016 Your destiny is an active, right now, Kingdom calling. THE PURPOSE OF LIFE IS LIVE WITH PURPOSE. - David Johnson -True Family Men Podcast Is our search for God’s will for our destiny rooted in fear or faith? We must learn to walk in confidence that God really does order our steps and really does want us to find our destiny. Many of the stories/miracles in the NT were what I like to call “wayside miracles.” The story of the Good Samaritan. The lame healed in Acts 3.
The woman with the issue of blood.
Luke 18:35-43 Your destiny will more than likely be found on the less traveled road. v. 35 - “Then it happened” What happened?  Make room for your destiny. v. 38 - The blind man “cried out.”  Your destiny is crying out to be fulfilled. v. 40 - “Jesus stood still” When you encounter your destiny STOP! v.41 - Jesus asked a blind man, “What do you want?”  Let your destiny speak to you rather then you speaking to your destiny. v. 43 The man “followed Him and glorified God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.”  Your destiny is not about you.

    THE PRAYER OF FAITH
    Sunday, May 1, 2016
Over the past couple of weeks we have looked at staying strong in trials, not showing partiality, the power of the tongue, and finding the will of God. This week we will conclude with James 5 and focus on prayer. James 5:1-6 talks about money. By nature it is easy to look around and only see those who have it better than us. But in reality, if we could see past our small world, we would quickly see that that poorest person in the room has more wealth then the vast majority of the world’s population. James talks to the people with wealth, warning us against using our wealth to oppress those with less than us.
In James 5:7-12 we find a counter balance by talking to the poor, the people with less than, and those who live their life persevering, getting from one day to the next.
Notice James does not talk about how to get more money; he focuses on encouraging the people to persevere in their lack. James knows that life can just be hard at times but even in hard times, we must endure be patient and establish our hearts. The key to this chapter is “establish hearts.” Luke 9:62 - Don’t look back. James 5:13-18 James encourages us in the power of prayer. He tells us that the prayer of faith will save (bring healing and restoration) the sick, and that it is the Lord who brings the healing. Interesting James ties forgiveness to healing. Verse 16 is a powerful verse that encourages us to lean on one another. Notice the response James calls for when someone confesses a trespass - Pray for them. The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
